Inkscape is a Free Software vector graphics editor. Its goal is to become a powerful graphic tool while being fully compliant with the XML, SVG and CSS standards. It is a cross-platform application that runs on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Unix-like operating systems; the primary development platform is Linux.

Some supported SVG features include basic shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, and grouping. In addition, Inkscape supports Creative Commons' metadata, node-editing, layers, complex path operations, text-on-path, text-in-shape, and SVG XML editing. It also imports several formats like EPS, PostScript, JPEG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats.

Inkscape started in 2003 as a fork of the vector drawing editor Sodipodi. Inkscape does not yet have as many features as the best commercial vector editors, but it is currently suitable for a wide range of applications. Inkscape's implementation of SVG and CSS standards is incomplete; most notably, it has not yet implemented SVG filter effects, animation, and SVG fonts. Inkscape is currently under active development, with new features being added regularly.

· Operations on paths (Node editing, Converting to path, Boolean operations, Path simplification, Path insetting and outsetting, Bitmap tracing)
· Text support (Multi-line text, Uses any installed outline fonts, including right-to-left scripts, Kerning, letter spacing, line spacing adjustments, Text on path, Text in shape)
· Rendering (Fully anti-aliased display, Alpha transparency support for display and PNG export, Complete "as you drag" rendering)
· Miscellaneous (Live watching and editing the document tree in the XML editor, Command line options for export and conversionsm, Perfectly compliant SVG format file generation and editing)



Dulu kenal corel draw dan kawan2nya yg kopleks N susah dimengerti. Setelah gencar2nya HAKI. Pihak microsoft maupun pengembang software2 laen mulai kasak kusuk indonesia.(surganya para pembajak...hehehe). Walhasil, kutetapkan pilihan pada Inkscape. weks...

Yups, freeware ini gak kalah sama yang Coreldraw (shareware). Inkscape dan software - software lain di Linux adalah manual, tutorial, atau buku yang bisa dijadikan acuan. Akhir2 ini tutorialnya mulai banyak. sampe di youtube, pernah aku temukan tutorialnya Inkscape. (kapan2 bisa tak UpLoad).
